Our Story
Three Women Sharing One Dream
While spending a combined 37 years in the various phases of the restaurant business, Alisha, Katie, and Liz individually made notes, mental and physical, of what they would do if they had their own place. They got to know each other when their paths crossed at different times, but they truly bonded when they worked together at a place east of I-30. During this period they combined their individual musings into the single concept that would become Rosie’s Pot & Kettle.
They knew it would be a diner that served breakfast and lunch, and they knew they wanted to be located east of Downtown. While working in that community, they developed a respect and a love for the people they served there. They also knew that it takes more than knowing what you want to make it happen. They looked at one place after another and ran into one roadblock after another. If they found a spot that looked just right, the financial backing didn’t work out. Time after time the story was the same, but Alisha, Katie, and Liz never expected it to be easy. The three of them were convinced they had a good plan they could make work, and each disappointment left them more determined than ever to keep going. After more than two years of frustration, they found the building, pooled their resources (to remove the need for outside financing), leased the place, and went to work turning it into Rosie’s Pot & Kettle.
Oh yeah, about the name, Alisha, Katie, and Liz thought it was only fitting to pay homage to all those “Rosie the Riveters” who rolled up their sleeves and filled the jobs left vacant when the men served in the military. Welcome to Rosie’s Pot & Kettle —— where we’re cooking up something good.
